Empowering First Nations people with digital skills to look after Country and mob.

The Ngarluma word Yarnda means sunrise. But it is also a word that encapsulates the feeling of the opportunities a new day brings - new dawns, and new beginnings.

Yarnda Foundation reached out to Nani Creative to partner on the creation of branding and supporting assets of this new not-for-profit.

Yarnda Foundation is a highly innovative organisation that is dedicated to harnessing the power of geospatial technology and data science to improve the lives and livelihoods of global citizens.

A key aspect of Yarnda Foundation’s work is to train and upskill Indigenous people in urban, regional and remote communities in the use of mapping technologies and software, to manage their land and waters and the knowledge attached to their country.

We began the project with a 3-hour Discovery workshop, before commencing the design process. This early effort helped us to truly understand the client’s vision, impact and mandate for the organisation. The clear result of this was the ideas and designs that Nani brought to the table after these discussions.

The Yarnda colour palette is inspired by the Pilbara sunrise and evokes a sense of connection to Country and nature. Encapsulating the feeling of the opportunities a new day brings, new dawns and new beginnings.
